Fuller McSpadden said the idea behind Texla Equipment started to come together approximately six years ago while sitting at Floyds Seafood writing on a cocktail napkin.
He shared the story Tuesday afternoon during Texla Equipment’s official grand opening, which included a Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and Better Business Bureau seal reveal.
McSpadden, who serves as general manager, said the goal was always “to have a local forklift dealership owned and operated with local people serving local customers in Southeast Texas, Southwest Louisiana and East Texas.”
“We have been starved for that in this area,” he added. “Of course, special thanks go to Jared (Bishop) and his family. This could not have happened without them.”
Located at 5685 Industrial Road in Beaumont, Texla Equipment is striving to be the community’s premier provider for forklifts.
McSpadden complimented a large team of people behind the operation, which includes salesman Josh Root.
“Our mechanics are some top shelf guys with lots of experience and great attitudes and work ethics,” he said.
“Please call us for any service needs you have and new equipment needs you have. We are the LiuGong dealership for forklifts. We rent, we sell, we lease, we fix. We have new and used (equipment). We want to help you. We believe in treating you the way you want to be treated. That’s our goal.”
President Jared Bishop thanked the standing room only crowd for coming out to celebrate the grand opening. He said his family was touched by the show of community support.
“We’re very excited to have Fuller (McSpadden) come on board,” Bishop added. “He has the knowledge to make all of this come together. I had no idea we would have this many people come out. There are faces I don’t even know, but I look forward to meeting the people I had never even met before.”
