Dr. Matt Kergosien was excited to address a crowd of more than 200 colleagues and supporters Thursday afternoon.
Standing outside the state-of-the-art Beaumont Bone & Joint orthopedic center, he helped usher in a new day for Southeast Texas medical care with an official ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration.
“We appreciated y’all’s support at our groundbreaking ceremony, when I made a comment that I wanted this building to be a symbol of our commitment to Southeast Texas to continue providing the highest level of orthopedic care for many years to come,” the president of Beaumont Bone & Joint shared.
“So, we are excited to do that. Your support means a lot to us. I want to thank our staff for their hard work and support. My partners, obviously, without their expertise, knowledge, and hard work, we wouldn’t be here. And then, most importantly, our friends and family, without their love and support, we wouldn’t be here at all. So, thank you all very much.”
H.B. Neild Construction led the way in building the ground-up facility, which boasts a distinct Tuscan design and state-of-the-art features, including MRI and physical therapy services, as well as orthopedic urgent care.
H.B. Neild Construction CEO Taylor Neild Sr. said it was a privilege to partner with a local group of community leaders to help move their mission forward.
“It’s a well thought out facility,” Neild added. “In fact, it’s one of the classier buildings built in Beaumont, Texas, in many years.”
Construction took approximately 18 months, with nearly 40,000 square feet now utilized under one roof in a two-story facility.
Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick joked with attendees that he is not only an admirer of the new facility but a grateful customer, sharing that he was impressed by the care he recently received for a shoulder concern.
He described the facility as “fantastic,” noting its innovation while delivering independent orthopedic care to Southeast Texas residents.
Branick called the facility a major investment in the economy that provides a platform to take care of all “our citizens.”
Dr. Keith Hill, orthopedic surgeon and past president of Beaumont Bone & Joint, thanked all those who attended while taking time to note the independent doctors’ group has been serving the region since 1956.
He said the grand opening celebrated the next chapter in that remarkable history.
“Our physicians live here. We raise our families here. We support local businesses, schools, churches, and community organizations,” Hill stressed.
“We are making this investment because this is our home, and we want to continue providing orthopedic care to the people of this region for many more decades. On behalf of all our physicians, I would like to sincerely thank our patients and the community for the trust and support you’ve given us over the last seven decades. This facility is dedicated to all of you.”
